Our Commitment to Sustainability
We are working to reduce our environmental impact and to build a healthier workplace for our colleagues and the communities we serve. Our approach is practical, transparent and focused on long-term improvements across our offices.
Technology
We have moved our systems to cloud-based platforms, reducing the need for physical servers and the energy they consume. Large-scale data centres run by cloud providers operate far more efficiently than traditional in-house server rooms. This shift also supports remote working, which helps to reduce commuting emissions and lowers the energy used in our offices.
Improving Our Workspaces
We are redesigning our office space to include more outdoor areas and the provision of outdoor and indoor plants. These spaces provide a place to rest and recharge, while contributing positively to the surrounding environment.
Supporting Wellbeing and Global Causes
Through the YuLife platform, our team can earn points by staying active or taking part in wellbeing activities. Points contribute to positive environmental and social initiatives such as planting trees, providing clean water, feeding families and removing plastic from the ocean. Staff participation has already resulted in new trees planted, water donations and measurable plastic removal from the marine environment.
Energy Efficiency in Our Offices
Motion-sensor lighting is in place in our Bedford office and we plan to extend this to our other location where possible. We are also installing more efficient LED lighting to help reduce unnecessary energy use.
Reducing Our Use of Paper
We continue to work towards paperless files across the firm. The number of physical files closed each year has reduced significantly — from 1,019 in 2023 to just 317 in 2025 — showing real progress in our move towards digital working.
