Mel qualified as a Solicitor in December 2006 having completed her training contract at another Bedford firm. She joined Sharmans in 2014 and became a Partner at Sharmans in 2016. Mel specialises in commercial property matters with a focus on delivering clear, practical advice and ensuring that transactions progress smoothly from start to finish.

We asked Mel – How do you usually like to unwind after a busy week?
“I enjoy a mixture of relaxation and activity. When I can, I like to spend time swimming, which is a great way to switch off. Weekends tend to be a mix of DIY and chores but, I like to spend time with my family, whether that’s visiting historical sites together or enjoying live music. A perfect Sunday evening for me would be a walk with the dog in the woods, followed by a roast dinner with my family”

We chose Sharman Law for the purchase of a long leasehold because of good initial impression of their competency on the phone talking to Mel Lawrence, and a competitive price. We went for the fixed price in advance option as this was in our view best value for money. Throughout the whole process Mel responded quickly to any enquiry and dealt with all issues in a professional manner. As you would expect with the purchase of a second hand building on a long term lease there were the usual negotiations with the seller which were all sorted in an expedient manner.
